Weekly Reflection Summary
Day 26 - 26 November, 2023
I was involved in invigilating the VSSC exam for shifts 1 and 2 at room number 701. This duty provided an opportunity to observe exam procedures and student behavior in a high-stakes environment.
Day 27 - 27 November, 2023
The day began with morning main gate line duty.
- 1st hour: Substituted in 6T for Rosemarry teacher (Basic Science).
- 2nd hour: Substituted in 8Q for Physics. Taught "Ray Diagrams of Spherical Mirrors" using convex and concave mirrors, a laser torch, blackboard, PHET simulation “Geometric Optics,” and presentation aids. Students gained insight into the properties of images formed by spherical mirrors.
- 3rd, 4th, and 6th hours: Substituted in 8O for Bindu teacher (Malayalam) and Ponnachan sir (Hindi). Covered "Ray Diagrams for Image Formation in Spherical Mirrors." Students understood the image properties in spherical mirrors.
- 7th hour: Substituted in 9Q for PT hour.
Day 28 - 28 November, 2023
The day started with morning main gate line duty.
- 3rd hour: Taught Physics in 8Q on "Ray Diagram for Image Formation in Concave Mirrors." Used concave mirrors, a laser torch, blackboard, PHET simulation “Geometric Optics,” and presentation aids. Students were able to distinguish properties of images formed by concave mirrors.
- 4th hour: Taught Chemistry in 9C1 on "pH Value." Used blackboard, presentation, pH paper, dil. HCl, dil. HNO3, water, soap solution, dil. NaOH, test tube, and watch glass as aids. Students understood the pH scale concept.
- 7th hour: Substituted in 9Q for Physics, summarizing "Work, Energy & Power."
- 6th period: Substituted in 6O for PT.
Day 29 - 29 November, 2023
The day began with morning main gate line duty.
- 2nd hour: Substituted in 8O on "Ray Diagram for Image Formation in Concave Mirrors" using concave mirrors, a laser torch, blackboard, PHET simulation “Geometric Optics,” and presentation aids. Provided notes on reflection.
- 4th hour: Substituted in 6J for Work Experience.
- 6th hour: Substituted in 9O.
- 7th hour: Taught a new Physics class in 8K, introducing "Reflection of Light in Spherical Mirrors."
The day concluded with evening line duty.
Day 30 - 30 November, 2023
The day started with morning main gate line duty.
- 1st hour: Substituted in 9W.
- 2nd hour: Taught Physics in 9Q, revising "Gravitation" and "Work, Energy & Power."
- 5th hour: Substituted in 8K on "Ray Diagram for Image Formation in Concave Mirrors," using concave mirrors, a laser torch, blackboard, PHET simulation “Geometric Optics,” and presentation aids. Observed by Neena teacher.
- 7th hour: Substituted in 9Q, introduced "Current Electricity."

Volunteered in the State Work Experience fair.
Day 32 - 2 December, 2023
Volunteered in the State Work Experience (HS) fair.
Overall Reflection:
This week primarily focused on substitutions, teaching specific topics, and participating in school events:
- Emphasized the practical aspects of teaching complex subjects like optics and chemical reactions.
- Utilized a range of materials and A-V aids to enhance student understanding.
- Received observations and feedback that were instrumental in refining teaching methods.
- Engaged in school-wide events like the State Work Experience fair, providing insights into broader educational activities and responsibilities.
The consistent use of practical demonstrations and interactive tools helped reinforce student learning, and the feedback received contributed to improving my teaching practice.
